How I started painting...............
Several years ago, after returning from the Harper's Ferry Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival with my first purchased decorative painted piece, I started a journey to learn as much as I could about Art.
Immediately, I jumped on the internet searching the web for any information concerning learning Decorative Art. I found tons of information which at times seemed to be an enormous challenge just to get everything read. The information that I pulled from the web was priceless. I found weblinks for Jansen Art Studio, JoSonja, Maureen McNaughton and many many more. All of that information gave me my initial entrance into the field of decorative painting.
I started to order books, supplies, brushes, DVD's, pattern packets, wood and even tin pieces hoping to start a rewarding journey into learning and painting. I ended up with lots of materials but still did not know how to begin painting.
That is when I started to shoot emails to artists. One artist is considered a BIG Brush in the decorative art commnity and with their encouragement and recommendation to a local teacher in Virginia, I started my first decorative painting classes.
There have been lots of changes since I started painting around Pampered Palette. I am the owner/artist for Pampered Palette (the premiere online resource for the decorative painter/artist), we stock and sell the DecoArt Americana, DecoArt Traditions, Jo Sonja Acrylics/Mediums and Maureen McNaughton Arts product families in the Washington DC area, teach decorative painting classes, the Ceramic Artist Guild Ambassador to Decorative Painting/SDP and a SDP Ambassador. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Join me for my journey. I will post information concerning all my classes with photos, the conferences I attend, product reviews and much much more.
